Our History

In 2003, co-founders, Harry Pierce and Rick Chambers identified a gap in the marketplace for protective work gear. With an idea sketched on a napkin, the two retail experts sought to build a better product and launched the first high-performance work glove. Big Time Products leads the industry in work, garden, automotive, and household cleaning glove categories, in addition to other successful ventures such as wearable tool storage, job site storage and kneepads. What started as an idea, developed into a solution that has expanded Big Time Products into the leading manufacture it is today, becoming the largest supplier of high-performance work gloves in the U.S.

The company’s impressive growth has gained popularity with Inc.® and Entrepreneur® magazines catapulting BTP onto the national stage.

Our Founders

Harry Pierce, Co-Founder

With over 30 years in the industry, Harry Pierce rose through the ranks at The Home Depot from Assistant Store Manager to President of the West Coast Division where he managed approximately five billion dollars in sales and operated the number one division for the retail chain. As Co-Founder of Big Time Products, Harry built the business from the ground up, creating the powerhouse manufacturing company it is today. He is the driving force behind Big Time Products success and has overseen more than 300 products from conception to production while managing the Design, Operations Sourcing and Distribution departments.

Rick Chambers, Co-Founder

Rick Chambers has been in consumer product sales and marketing for over 40 years. Joining the workforce at just 19 years old, he worked his way up through several large companies such as R.T. French Company (French’s Mustard), Hoyle Playing Cards, Georgia Pacific and Magla Products. As Co-Founder of Big Time Products, Rick is directly responsible for the company’s 80,000 retail partners globally and has overseen the accumulation of new businesses and growth of new customers. What started out as a pitch to The Home Depot for a high-performance glove has turned into the leading manufacturer Big Time Products is today.

Working with internal and external firms is the equivalent to a contact sport – the more people you touch, the more impact you have. This is our philosophy and why we heavily immerse ourselves in consumer research. The process starts with the end user and because of this, we get on the job site, conduct qualitative and quantitative research and test our products in every situation so that whether you are a mechanic or a weekend warrior, we have the right products for anyone who needs to get the job done. At the end of the day, we want to be able to say ‘we know’ not just ‘we think’ – we’re not guessing, we’re doing the research and putting in the work to find the problem and identify a solution. We believe in holistic programs and marketing that consists of clear, concise brand and product messaging.
